Best law society overall
Manchester University Law Society

“This society impressed us across the board with the work that it does to engage and support students at all stages and from all backgrounds. In particular, this society has regularly listened to feedback from its members and adapted its events and offerings to best support the needs of its members. That to us highlights a fantastic society that truly cares about the voices and ambitions of its students.”

“This person’s commitment toward the wellbeing of their members is evident from the brilliant events they and their team have continually organised this year. Even through the difficult adjustment of switching to virtual, they have made sure that every member has had an unrivalled opportunity by connecting us to future employers and all the information and advice we would need.”
For us, a great law society has worthwhile values, and goes above and beyond to achieve them. We have completely transformed the society this year, focusing on 3 values: Community, Accessibility and Success.

Best law society president
We live and breathe community, accessibility and success for - and on behalf of - our members. This is why we are a great law society.
Best society for pro bono
University of Nottingham Pro Bono Society

“This society provides truly unique and extraordinary pro bono opportunities. They have provided me with the bulk of experiences on my CV, making them truly essential to the advancement of my career. There is a project for every area of pro bono you would like to explore.”
With almost 400 members on campus, our ever-growing society runs nine high quality and innovative
volunteering projects providing pro bono activities within three key areas; directly within our Community, Education, and Penal Reform. We are especially proud to announce this year’s launch of our ninth and newest project, the Pro Bono Society Legal Advice Clinic!

Best society for pro bono
What makes the Pro Bono Society great is the fact that it not only helps our members improve their abilities and skills but also helps our community tackle the various challenges it faces.
Best society for first-year students
University of Bristol Law Club

“The society has organised multiple events to help first years feel more comfortable settling into university. Despite the pandemic, I have been able to network with numerous law firms, gain exposure to what a legal career entails, and socialise and learn from older students.”
The UBLC has run a number of first-year specific events and this has increased because of the growing awareness of first-year schemes and how they can lead to vacation schemes or training contracts. The best first year specific activity we have in place is the UBLC Parenting Scheme.

Best society for first-year students
The UBLC is a great law society because it listens to members, makes necessary changes and year on year ensures that all the leading employers are interacting with members and adding value to them.
