It’s not just about ticking boxes; it’s also about genuinely embracing differences and leveraging them as strengths. From cultural festivals that highlight different traditions to panel discussions on diversity in the legal profession, each event has been a testament to the society’s commitment to embracing and promoting diversity. They’ve established support networks for underrepresented groups, offering mentorship programmes and creating safe spaces for open dialogue.”

“They hold firms accountable by requesting representatives from diverse backgrounds and always host diversity specific events. They also have a diversity officer and promote diversity socio-economically by their bursary scheme – they help diversity grow in all ways!”

“This year has seen the biggest push in increasing diversity for many years, with a myriad of schemes, including a first-of-its-kind bursary scheme for ethnic minorities. Alongside the regular diversity events, there is a diversity council with elected heads to advise the committee – which is a great structural way to increase diversity. As a student from a minority group, the support and information from the society has made me feel much more at home not only in the society, but in Nottingham as a whole.”
