The first-year events made joining feel far less overwhelming, and the committee were always approachable and supportive. I loved seeing first-year students take on real committee roles as it made leadership feel genuinely achievable. Whether I needed careers advice, a friendly social or just a place I could turn up alone and feel welcome, this society made the transition to university so much easier.”

The society’s First-year Guide and Commercial Awareness Programme helped me to kickstart my career and develop the essential skills I needed early on in my legal journey. These initiatives not only build confidence, but also provide a strong foundation for success in law school and beyond.”

“There are a lot of introductory events to help first-year students make sense of university life and law in general. Moreover, the society is incredibly active during the university’s freshers’ fair and welcome week. The mentorship programme, in particular, really goes out of its way to support first years.”

Not only does this represent first years really well, but it also ensures we have events tailored specifically to us, whether careers or social. I also love how approachable all the team are.”

And they distributed lots of resources for applications. Plus, there are a variety of competitions to get involved in as a first-year student!”
